Luc Bouchard, the export manager of Henriot-owned wineries organizes a tasting of the latest available vintages in April annually.
This year, main features were 2015 Burgundy wines (Cote d’Or and Chablis) along with two Beaujolais, plus Champagne Henriot products.
Bouchard Pere et Fils is one of the oldest Burgundy wineries and shippers.
It was founded in 1731 and enjoys a well deserved reputation world-wide. The company owns 130 hectares of Cote d’Or vineyards, of which 12 are grand-, and 74 premier cru.
Since Champagne Henriot bought Bouchard Pere et Fils a few years ago, considerable funds were devoted to upgrade equipment, and viticultural practices.
The same is true for William Fevre, a venerable Chablis producer.
The 2015 Burgundy vintage for white wines was successful, and that of red wines evaluated very successful.
My recommendations are:
Brut Souverain, Henriot
Expressive and refreshing citrus aromas are the first impressions. On the palate the wine tastes fresh, with vanilla undertones. It is a well balanced and impressive finish.
Blanc de Blancs, Champagne Henriot
Floral/fruity (citrus) aromas dominate the nose. On the palate toasted brioche, and quince jelly flavours come forth. Clean and delicious finish.
White wines Bouchard Pere et Fils
Meursault Les Clus
Intense bouquet of fruits and flowers. Subtle and lively. Cellar for two to three years.
Delicious fruity/floral aromas underlined with a hint of oak. Elegant and refined. Medium-weight.
Meursault Genevrieres Premier Cru
Aromas of apples/pears waft out of the glass. Medium-weight with good depth and finish.
Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru
Pale golden with green shades. Aromas of lemons dominate. In the mouth the mineral flavours appear. A rich and elegant wine.
Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru
Expect toasty floraléfruity aromas. Complex and rich. An elegant wine to pair with white-fleshed fish in cream sauce, foie gras, Meyer lemon marinated Matane shrimps.
Corton Charlemage Grad Cru
Mineral notes, along with toasty aromas. Mid-weight, with good
acidity. Excellent balance. Pair with boiled lobster drawn butter, pan-fried halibut with beurre blanc
William Fevre – Chablis
Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons
Fresh lively mouth feel. Good balance and long aftertaste.
Chablis Premier Cru Beauroy
Mineral taste. Medium-weight with good acidity. Sole Meuniere would be good accompanment or freshly shucked oysters with a drop of lemon juice.
Chablis Premier cru Montmains
Aromas of apples and apples waft out of the glass. Mineral flavours with a refreshing finish
Chablis Premier cru Fourchoume
Superb fruit aromas with floral notes lead to an elegant palate.
Light and refreshing.
Pair with oysters, or chicken breast in tarragon sauce.
Chablis Grand Cru Bougros
Rich bouquet of fully ripe fruit. In the mouth the wine tastes “round” with a fine balance.
Pair with pan-fried scallops in dills auce, or Matane shrimp in deeam and dill sauce.
Chablis Grand cru, Les Preuses
Exceptional Chablis offering floral/fruity aromas. Medium weight. Well balanced and lively.
Enjoy with king-crab legs with drawn butter, or grilled salmon.
Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
Complex floral/fruity bouquet. Mineral notes. Mid weight, generous and powerful
Villa Ponciago 2015 Fleurie La Reserve
Deep purple leaning to red colour. Cherry and blueberry aromas dominate the nose. Mid-weight. Good balance. Long aftertaste.
A fine Beaujolais that could be cellared fro two to three years.
Fleurie Les Hauts Du Py 2015
Intense purplish red colour. Expect blackberry,
and cherry aromas.
Soft mouth feel, mineral flavours, and perfect balance makes this wine well suited to pair with roasted root vegetables, beef stews, cold cuts, and medium soft cheeses.

Monthelie Les Duresses Premier Cru
Berry aromas dominate the nose. Mid-weight with good balance. Cellar for two to three years.

Anticiate blackberry aromas underlined with a touch of oak. Delicately spiced flavour. Mid-weight with good depth and long finish.
Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru
Well structured. Good mouth feel. The wine explodes with berry fruit aromas. A sumptuous wine with an impressive finish. Cellar for three to six years.
Pair with game stews, roast saddle of venison, aged cheeses.
