Bouchard Pere et Fils is an old, well-established, and well respected Burgundy shipper with considerable ownership of vineyards in Burgundy. The company also owns the Chablis winery William fever, Beaujolais property Villa Ponciago, and champagne producer Henriot.
Luc Bouchard, the export manager, visits Toronto annually to present the bottled wines of a recent vintage. This year it was 2011.

A dry, appealing, fruit, balanced wine with fine minerality and pleasant finish
Chablis Grand Cru Bougros
Excellent ripe pear/apple aromas, soft, very appealing, balanced, elegant with a long finish.
Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses
Medium-weight, with a fine mid-palate, depth and flavour. Elegant and refined.
Pair confidently with filet of sole a la Meuniere, or in a cream and white wine sauce, lobster thermidor, poached salmon with basil mayonnaise.
Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
Excellent apple/pear aromas. Mid-weight with good minerality, refined, balanced with a superb finish.
Fleurie, Villa Ponciago, Beaujolais
This property in the Fleurie appellation produces typically fruity, light, uniquely-flavoured wines.
Fleurie La Reserve, 2011, is light, aromatic, with good acidity and superbly suitable for a range of dishes.
Fleurie Grand Cuvee La Roche Muriers, 2010 vinted from a selected parcel, is the best wine of the estate. This fruity, powerful wine with good acidity and balance requires one to two years of cellaring.
It is fine now with fatty dishes lie game or beef stews.

Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru
Exudes pear/apple aromas. Full bodied with minerality. Powerful and superbly balanced.
Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru
A typical grand cru Burgundy from a single vineyard that is world-renown and classified Grand Cru. The wine exudes ripe fruit aromas, is elegant, with excellent mouth feel and balance.

Volnay Caillerets Ancienne Cuvee Carnot Premiere Cru
Floral and fruity (berries), medium-weight, “juicy” and eminently enjoyable.
Nuits Saint Georges La Cailles Premiere Cru
“juicy”, soft, beautifully balanced, fruity, with a long and pleasant aftertaste.
Le Corton Grand Cru
Fruity, and spicy. Rich and structure on the palate. Long aftertaste. Elegant and sophisticated.
Potential for cellaring three to five years for extra smoothness and complexity.
