Professor B’s August 30 Vintages Release Recommendations

This extensive release contains eight champagnes of which only four were made available for wine writers to taste. The remaining are priced at around $ 300.00 a bottle, and no doubt were imported in small quantities.

Beyond that, there is a good selection of American wines (California, Oregon, and Washington ) and many others that offer good value, and range.

My fiorst choices are from a number of regions, followed by others that offer good value and punch well above average.

Corryvreckan Islay Single Malt, Ardbeg, Scotland
An outstanding, and powerful single malt that smells of seaweed, smoke, tar, dark chcoclate, and stone fruits.

Armagnac was produced before Cognac became fashionable. This Armagnac from the Bas Armagnac smells of dried fruits, and earth, and offers a buttery complex texture.
