Professor B’s Vintages June 8 Release Recommendations.

wine

This fairly large release offers many more red wines than white. Given teh fact that, generally, June is a relatively hot month, this is surprising.

There are more than regular amount of rose wines, therefore I have decided to add a separate heading.

Spirits

Single Barrel Special Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Blanton Distillery, Kentucky
An intense and complex Bourbon offering unrefined brown sugar, candied orange and nutmeg aromas. Smooth and layered mouth feel.

Darkest 15-Year Old Islay Single malt, Bowmore, Scotland
The darkness of this exceptionally flavourful whisky comes from the long aging and finishing the aging process in old sherry casks. It is a powerful, but smooth whisky that should be savoured in a proper whisky glass, with a few drops of water and no ice.
Lingering finish testifies to this whisky`s pedigree.

White wines

Louis Hauller Gewurztraminrr, 2011, La Cave du Tonnelier, Alsace, France
Defined notes of citrus, apricot, lychee, honey, spice, and rose petals are discernible.
A very appealing, almost textbook gewurztraminer that would match Asian seafood specialties, ratatouille, and stir-fried chicken.

Meursault Les Clous, 2010, Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils, Burgundy, France
Pale yellow in colour, peach, mint, crushed stones, and minerals greet the nose. Crisp acidity, perceptible smoothness and extra long finish make this wine extraordinary.
