In sophisticated bars around the world, cocktails are the order of the day, crafted by mixologists (these days bartender and barkeep are expressions for publicans) many of whom of late are being accorded the same status as celebrity chefs.
Many create their own bitters in house, and some mix cocktails in advance and age them in small barrels to provide intriguing flavours.
It is easy to create fine cocktails at home once you have the basic equipment, proper glassware, and knowledge. All are easy to acquire and happen to be affordable for most citizens in North America.
