Vintages Release Recommendations
The theme of this release is the wines of southern France, mainly Rhone Valley, Cahors, Languedoc, and Gaillac.
A large number of rose wines from Ontario, Spain, France, and italy are included in this release. Some are most enjoyable, others are too “thin” to quality as rose, but may be a s pelure d’oignon aka as onion skin colour. They could pass as white wines. Others are quite dark as far as rose wine colour is concerned.
All are easy to drink, if and when properly chilled, but not ice cold.
There is one port wine, one Tokaji, one delicious Scotch, and a mezcal which to my palate tastes more profound than any tequila tasted to date.
Del Meguey Santo Domingo Alabarrados Mezcal, Espiridion Morales Luis, Oaxaca Mexico
An intriguing spirit distilled from meguey cacti smelling of onions, green vegetables and vanilla.
In the mouth, sweet-hot flavours dominate. Dry. Very long finish.
