Zenato winery is a mid-sized winery, founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato, in Peschiera della Garda on the beautiful and tranquil Lake Garda in northern Italy.

Sergio Zenato brought the trebbiano grape to Lugana, which over time acclimatized, and is now called trebbiano di Lugana; it has very pleasing aromatic and textural characteristics.
This mid-sized winery owns 60 hectares, and buys contracted fruit from selected growers. The average annual production is approximately three million bottles.
In February of this year Alberto Zenato came to Toronto to conduct a tasting of some of his wines at George Brown College’s state-of-the-art wine tasting laboratory.

Pinot Grigio delle Vanezie, 2013
Vibrant yellow with greenish tinges. Aromatically, the wine emanates key lime, white peach and apple scents. It is smooth balanced, refreshing and elegant.

Veneto Rosso, 2011
Deep ruby in colour. Aromas of black cherries, cedar, and liquorice dominate the nose. Medium bodied, with a pleasant acid backbone and long finish.
Enjoy with pizza, pasta, grilled pork chops, cold cuts, baked ham, and lamb meatballs. This is an excellent value.
Veneto Rosso Parziale Appasimento, 2012
Deep ruby colour. Partially dried to concentrate flavour. Smells of maraschino cherries and flowers emanate from the glass. Full bodied, with a velvety texture.
Valpolicella Superiore, 2012
Ruby red. Aromas of black currants, black cherries and spices detected on the nose. In the mouth, the wine offers layers of flavours, It is robust with a long after taste.
Cellar for three to four years for more complexity.
Ripassa Valpolicella Suepriore, 2010
Brilliant deep ruby. Aromas of blackberries and black currants jump out of the glass. The wine is smooth, complex, nuanced, and powerful with a long and satisfying finish.
Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico, 2010
Deep ruby. Intoxicating aromas of Morello cherries, cassis, truffles and chocolate leap out of the glass. In the mouth, the wine is silky smooth (16.5 ABV), luscious and complex. Cellar for three to four years.
Ready to enjoy with medium-rare grilled steaks, osso buco, wild boar ravioli, grilled rib eye steak, Parmigiano Reggiano, Gruyere, or Emmethal.
